The Iowa Mennonite School boys basketball team will host the No. 16 ranked Danville Bears tonight at Hillcrest Union in this year’s edition of the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out.

The teams were paired together as they both finished in third place in their respective divisions of the Superconference. IMS enters tonight with an overall record of 15-5, they were 10-5 in league play. They have won seven straight coming into the night. In their last game they beat Mediapolis 49-43 Tuesday, behind 14 points from Cole Ours. On the season IMS is led by Nick Yutzy scoring 11 points per game. He also holds the team lead and is fourth in the north division with 97 assists. Mitchell Schmeider leads IMS on the year with 86 rebounds.

Danville comes into tonight with an overall record of 15-5, they are 13-3 in the south division of the Southeast Iowa Superconference. In their last game they beat Van Buren 94-63, Kaleb Haeffner led the Bears with 21 points. On the season, Danville is led by Max Wilcox averaging 19 points per game, second best in the south division of the Superconference. Bryce Carr leads the Bears and is second in the south with 99 assists. Haeffner is best on the team and second in the south with 165 rebounds on the season.

These two teams met a year ago with Danville taking a 72-64 win. They have met several times in the Superconference Shoot Out, the most recent in 2011, where Danville took a 64-59 win.
