The Iowa Mennonite boys and girls basketball teams host the Pekin Panthers Friday at Hillcrest Union for Senior night.

The IMS girls fell to the Panthers 49-21. Pekin started the game on a 15-0 run, shutting out IMS during the first quarter. The run ended for the Panthers at 24-5 and they held a 28-8 lead at the halftime break. Pekin kept control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring IMS 12-5 and eventually stretching the lead as large as 31 before finishing out the win. Suzanna Yoder led IMS with 14 points. Iowa Mennonite honored lone girls basketball senior Calli Shaw between the girls and boys varsity games. IMS falls to 0-17 with the loss.

The Iowa Mennonite boys scored a 49-33 win over the Panthers Friday. Pekin held a 13-12 lead after one quarter as Trever Northup knocked down a three at the quarter buzzer. Nick Yutzy returned the favor for IMS hitting a three pointer at the halftime horn to put IMS up 22-19 going to the break. In the third IMS extended the lead to eight going to the fourth quarter and was able to put together a flurry in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Nick Yutzy led IMS with 14 points, Cole Ours added 11 for Iowa Mennonite. IMS honored seniors Drake Brezina, Adrian Gonzales, Nick Yutzy, Cole Yoder and Finny Lackender between the boys and girls varsity games. With the win IMS is now 14-5 on the year.
