After several years of delays and discussions, the Keota City Council will consider a resolution for the annexation of property at 2030, 2034, and 2038 Keokuk-Washington Road at their meeting Monday. The council initially planned to approve the resolution after a public hearing at their previous meeting, but they were advised by City Attorney Scott Flynn to wait until they received a 28E agreement from Washington County for road maintenance. After they pass the resolution, the annexation request will be sent to the State of Iowa for further review before it is final.

Other topics on the agenda include a project update from the Keota Visioning Committee, approving petty cash and clothing allowance policies, and approving an agreement with Aquatic Design Solutions, regarding the town’s outdoor swimming pool. Additionally, they’ll discuss grant applications for the Washington County Riverboat Foundation’s spring grant cycle. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the Keota City Hall.
