A familiar postseason foe stands in the way of the Lone Tree Lady Lions basketball team (18-5). Lone Tree continues Class 1A Region 6 tournament play in Miles tonight against the Easton Valley Riverhawks (16-6) in the semifinal round. The teams met in last year’s postseason with Easton Valley edging Lone Tree, 44-41.

Lone Tree has averaged 58 points scored in their two playoff wins against Keota (59-22) and WACO (57-25). The Lady Lions have recorded 34 steals during the playoffs. Madison Forbes is averaging 20.5 points per game this postseason. She scored a game-high 26 points in Tuesday’s victory over WACO. Forbes scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in last year’s playoff loss to Easton Valley.

The Riverhawks advanced to the regional semifinal after a 64-14 victory over Prince of Peace Prep (1-21) Tuesday. Easton Valley returns six players who played in last year’s game versus Lone Tree. The winner will advance to Monday’s regional championship at Muscatine High School against the winner of Notre Dame (17-6) and Seymour (19-2).
