The Mid-Prairie School Board will convene Monday, and part of the meeting will consist of a public hearing regarding bus specifications. The school will be purchasing one or two new buses for the next school year, but before they can do that, they need to get the public’s input on what types of buses they’ll be looking at. Superintendent Mark Schneider believes the buses will likely be propane-powered, continuing the trend the district started two years ago. After the public hearing, the board is expected to approve the bus specifications so they can begin receiving bids from bus companies.

Other topics on the agenda include discussion on a National Honor Society membership appeal, a student hour of code presentation, and discussion regarding the 2017-18 school calendar public hearing. The meeting will begin an hour earlier than normal, at 6 p.m. Monday, in the Mid-Prairie High School library in Wellman. The public is encouraged to attend and take part in the bus specifications hearing.
