After a four day search, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office located the body of a missing veteran who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Thirty-four-year-old Aaron Joseph Goff was reported as missing from his residence on Locust Street in Columbus Junction early Monday. At 7:40 a.m. Thursday, the sheriff’s office received a report from someone who found a body under the Monkey Run Bridge on Second Street in Columbus Junction. The body was identified as Goff, and the initial reports say he had injuries consistent with a suicide. Officers from the Columbus Junction Police Department and the Washington/Louisa Medical Examiner’s Office aided the sheriff’s office at the scene. The body was taken to the University of Iowa Hospital for an autopsy. No foul play is suspected at this time.
