The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team saw marked improvement during the 2016-17 season, the first under new head boys basketball coach Daren Lambert, finishing with a 7-17 overall record, best in the last three seasons.

Late Run Lifts Lisbon to District Title Over Iowa Mennonite

In a tightly contested matchup Thursday night at Tim Grady Gymnasium at Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman, the Lisbon boys basketball team bested Iowa Mennonite in the class 1A district nine championship game 64-59.
