A permanent medication dropbox has been installed at the Washington County Jail. Sheriff Jared Schneider announced it is accessible 24 hours a day in the lobby of the jail on Lexington Boulevard. The drop box was made possible with a grant from the Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy. According to Schneider, more people are becoming addicted to prescription drugs because they use leftover medication from family members. Anyone who wants to drop off medication are asked to put the medication in a sealed, non-breakable container. Do not put “sharps” like syringes in the drop box.
