Monday is Presidents’ Day and many office and businesses will be closed in observance of the holiday. Presidents’ Day is observed the third Monday each February and began as an observance of George Washington’s birthday in 1879. Washington City Hall and the Washington Public Library will be closed. The U.S. Postal Service will observe Washington’s Birthday and will not deliver mail Monday and post offices will be closed. Also, banks will be closed for the federal holiday.
