State championship matches are going on now at the 2017 Iowa State Individual Wrestling tournament. Two area wrestlers were in contention for a state title in Class 2A.

At 106 lbs No.5 Jarod Kadel of Columbus lost a 4-0 decision in the title match against Williamsburg’s Graeson Kesterson.

At 152lbs, No. 6 Trey Van Weelden of Washington lost his championship match by 7-0 major decision to No. 2 Isaac Judge of South Tama.
