The Washington Demon girls’ basketball season came to a close Wednesday night. As heard live on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons traveled to Mount Pleasant High School for the opener of the Class 4A Region 6 tournament versus the Mount Pleasant Panthers (13-9). The Panthers ended the Demons’ season with a 50-28 victory.

Washington trailed 19-14 after the first half. Mount Pleasant outscored Washington in the final two quarters, 31-14. Sarah Nacos scored a team-best 11 points and swiped four steals. Kira Ropp added six points in the setback. The victory advances Mount Pleasant to Saturday’s regional semifinal versus the No. 1 Marion Indians (20-1). The loss ends Washington’s season with a record of 5-17 overall. The Demons lose Taylor Dicks to graduation.
