Tuesday afternoon, there was a water main break in Wellman at 8th Street and 7th Avenue. Initially, the city believed it was a service line that broke, but it turned out to be a water main. According to city officials, the problem was fixed late Tuesday night, but the cleanup has been difficult due to the weather. They don’t currently have an estimate for when the cleanup will be complete, so citizens are advised to avoid the area. City officials did announce there will be no need for a boil order. The city is uncertain what caused the break at this time, though they said sometimes a big temperature shift can cause additional pressure on the water system.
