Thirty games into her final collegiate softball season, 2013 Washington alum Kaitlin Buchholz has played error-free defense for the Florida Institute of Technology Panthers (14-16). She’s started every game for the Panthers in centerfield this season.

Buchholz has recorded 44 chances this spring, making 41 putouts and assisting on three others. She’s posted a season-high four putouts twice last month, including a 3-2 victory over the University of Central Missouri (7-14), and in a 6-5 loss to Valdosta State University (21-6). Buchholz is one of three players who has a 1.000 fielding percentage with more than 25 chances for the team.

At the plate, Buchholz has tallied 12 hits in 65 at bats, including four doubles. She has scored 13 runs and driven in seven more. The Panthers resume their season today in Melbourne, Florida hosting the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish (15-10) at 3 p.m. (EST).
