Area Future Farmers of America students recently took part in the district FFA competition, and several have advanced to the state competition to be held in Ames on April 10th. FFA groups from Mid-Prairie, Iowa Mennonite School, and Keota traveled to Muscatine to take part in an assortment of team and individual events. Participants were rated gold, silver, or bronze, with the top entries advancing to state.

Area FFA members headed to state include: Mid-Prairie students Rebecca Frantz and Wyatt Stumpf, who were first place in reporter’s scrapbook; Mid-Prairie’s Creigh Rourke and Isabella Sexton, who were first place in secretary’s book; IMS student Cole Yoder, who was first place in agricultural sales; Keota student Riley Conrad, who was second in secretary’s book; and Keota’s Joe Swanstrom, who was second in manual quiz. Additionally, Mid-Prairie had two entries named alternates to the state competition, including Creigh Rourke in public speech, and the chapter program team of Lindsey Palmer, Greta Schmidt, and Hunter Eden. To top it off, Mid-Prairie received a superior rating in the State National Chapter competition.
