The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams wrap up the indoor portion of their track season tonight when they travel to Mount Vernon and Cornell College for the River Valley Conference Indoor track championships.

Both teams have competed once this year indoors, each traveling to Ames for the Iowa State University Indoor meet.

The Mid-Prairie boys were led at Iowa State by three eighth place finishes. The 4×800 relay team of Peyton Miller, Andrew Schwartz, Marshall Teets and Kyle Miller. Teets and Miller also took eighth in the high jump. In their only outing of the year the Mid-Prairie girls were paced in Ames by this week’s Hedge Above Lawncare Athlete of the Week Anna Hostetler, who took home meet championships in the 1500m and 3000m runs. Marie Hostetler finished as runner-up in both events.

Mid-Prairie will be joined in the event by Iowa City Regina, West Liberty, West Branch, Tipton, Durant, Wilton, North Cedar, Monticello, Camanche, Cascade, Northeast Goose Lake and Bellevue. A year ago, the Monticello boys finished as state runners-up, Iowa City Regina was eighth, Camanche was 12th and Mid-Prairie was 27th. On the girls side a year ago, Monticello finished third in the state, Northeast Goose Lake was fifth and Mid-Prairie 16th. In this event last year, Anna Hostetler won the 1500m and 3000m races in conference record times.

Action begins at 4:30 and continues into the evening at Cornell College.
