The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys soccer team took the pitch for the first time on the young season Thursday, traveling to Solon to scrimmage the Spartans.

Action played out in two 40 minute halves. Mid-Prairie took a 1-0 lead at the 12 minute mark when Jason Tew found the back of the net. The Golden Hawks held that advantage into the break. In half two, Mid-Prairie began to substitute and shuffle positions. The Spartans took advantage, netting the equalizer, game winner and an insurance goal during the second 40 minutes to take the scrimmage 3-1. Mid-Prairie opens the season Monday, April 3rd when they travel to Highland.
