A fast start to the season helped the Highland Huskies girls’ basketball team (14-8) earn multiple postseason accolades. The coaches of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North selected this year’s all-conference teams and Highland is represented by five players.

Kelsey Hora concludes her high school basketball career as a member of the first-team squad. Hora was the fifth highest scorer in the league this winter with 382 points scored. Her 79 assists are tied with teammate Amy Schnoebelen for fourth-most in the league and Hora’s 86 steals ranks fourth as well. Aly Stokes is Highland’s other first team selection. Stokes was the only player in the conference to record a double-double by averaging 12.7 points and 12 rebounds. She also swatted a league-best 81 shots, 47 more than any other conference player.

Abbie Miller was named a second team all-conference performer. She was the team’s second-leading rebounder with 177 and the squad’s third-best scorer with 193 points.

Schnoebelen and Holly Schneider are honorable mention selections.

The Highland Huskies closed their season with a record of 14-8. The Huskies lose Hora and Schnoebelen to graduation.
