The Iowa Mennonite School girls basketball team continued to lay a foundation for the program during the 2016-17 season.

The IMS girls finished winless in the Southeast Iowa Superconference with their closest call coming in a 47-43 loss to Pekin in January. Iowa Mennonite nearly captured their first win of the season in the first round of the regional tournament, pushing the HLV Warriorettes to overtime before falling 51-48.

Offensively, Iowa Mennonite finished last in the Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division, scoring 36 points per game. Their 30% team field goal percentage was also ninth in the conference. IMS was seventh behind the arc as a team at 23%. IMS also improved their ball possession during the year, finishing fifth in the Superconference with 348 turnovers. Iowa Mennonite shined on the defensive end of the floor, finishing fourth in the Superconference in scoring defense, allowing 54 points per game.

Individually, Iowa Mennonite was led by Suzanna Yoder. In her sophomore season she scored 18 points per game, fifth best in the Superconference. Her 58 assists were also best on the team and 10th best in the Superconference. Mia Graber led IMS on the glass with 110 rebounds.

Suzanna Yoder was a second team All-SEISC selection. Calli Shaw and Alyssa Hershberger were honorable mention all-conference selections. The IMS girls lose Calli Shaw to graduation. IMS ended the season with an overall record of 0-19.
