The Iowa Mennonite School girls track team began the 2017 season with an indoor meet at the H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse in Pella Saturday on the campus of Central College.

Suzanna Yoder had a big day for IMS, with a pair of top 10 finishes and a top 20. Yoder was fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:05.42. She also took 10th in the 60m dash with a time of 8.58 seconds. Yoder was 17th in the long jump, clearing 14′ 2”.

Other finishers for Iowa Mennonite included in the 60m dash, Calli Shaw 33rd, Mackenzie Gutierrez 108th, and Adria Ebersole 178th. In the 200m, Gutierrez was 92nd with a time of 31.84 seconds, Ebersole was 141st. Calli Shaw was 22nd in the 400m with a time of 1:08.58. In the 1500m Greta Schrag was 49th in 8:07.61, Ainsley Shaw was 50th and Sarena Gerber also participated. Rubye Ney took 13th in the 60m hurdles in 10.64 seconds. The Iowa Mennonite 4×200 team of Gutierrez, Calli Shaw, Ney and Yoder were ninth in 1:59.28. IMS was 30th in the 4×800, the team of Gerber, Rachel Geyer, Schrag and Ainsley Shaw finished in 14:36.43. Sarena Gerber also participated in the high jump. Emma Beachy was 71st in the shotput with a throw of 22’6”.

The IMS track team will next be in action March 30th when they travel to Danville.
