As the weather grows warmer, the staff at Lake Darling is ready to welcome an influx of guests to the park. Park Ranger Zach Haworth says, “We’re just now getting into it, obviously it’s still March. We’re very blessed to have the nice weather that we have been having lately. As compared to June, July, and August, numbers are still very much down, but for it still being March, I’d say there’s still pretty good usage at the park. The cabins, they’ve been very busy throughout the whole winter, especially here in this month. As the weather allows, we’re seeing a lot of day use folks. People getting out there fishing, walking the trails, and just enjoying everything the park has to offer.”

As far as the four-season cabins, Haworth says they’ve been consistently reserved all winter, and they’ve already been booked for several weeks in June. They can currently be rented for two nights at a time, but after Memorial Day, they will have a one week minimum stay. Haworth says the feedback about the cabins has been almost universally positive, but they would like people to continue to let them know what they think.
