The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track and field team will try for the second time in under a week to open the outdoor portion of their schedule Thursday when they travel to Mount Pleasant.

Mid-Prairie was scheduled to participate at Mount Vernon on Saturday but the meet was canceled due to in climate weather. The last time Mid-Prairie competed was Thursday at the River Valley Conference Indoor Championship meet at Cornell College.

At the RVC meet the Mid-Prairie 4×400 team of Peyton Miller, Cary Schaefer, Quinn Schmidt and Marshall Teets were champions. Other top finishes included Terryhn Jacoby winning his flight of the 60m dash, Micah Gugel taking second in his flight in the shot put, Miles Burrows taking second in his flight of the 60m hurdles, and Kyle Miller and Marshall Teets finishing fourth in the high jump and long jump respectively.

On Thursday Mid-Prairie will be joined in Mount Pleasant by Davenport Assumption, Central Lee, Davenport North, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City, City High, Mediapolis, Ottumwa, Washington, West Burlington and the home standing Panthers.

Action begins at 4:30 Thursday afternoon at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.
