At their most recent meeting, the Mid-Prairie School Board received a report regarding their Extended Learning program. Valli Ruggiero is in charge of Extended Learning, previously called Talented and Gifted, and she gave her annual report explaining what’s going on in the program. Business Manager Jeff Swartzentruber says, “The program really starts about grade four or grade five. Once a student is identified in the program, they stay in the program throughout their entire school career through high school. And they would do different things like Future Problem Solvers, music, (or) math. Just some special activities and learning opportunities for students through that program.” The Extended Learning program is sustained through categorical funding provided by the state.
