Twelve counties in Iowa are now experiencing moderate drought. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, about 5.7% of Iowa is in moderate drought and 17.7% is abnormally dry in southeastern and southcentral Iowa. That’s up from 13.8% last week. Washington, Louisa, and Henry counties are abnormally dry mostly. Keokuk and Jefferson Counties are abnormally dry, with the southwest corners of each county in moderate drought.
