The KCII Severe Weather Action Team was live on the air Tuesday for two severe thunderstorm warnings. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities issued the first warning began at 3:26 p.m. and ended at 3:50 p.m., the second was issued at 5:25 p.m. and expired at 5:50 p.m. The warnings were for northern Washington County, northeastern Keokuk County, southern Johnson County, and southeastern Iowa County. A tornado watch was also issued for the area Tuesday.

Nickel-sized hail fell in North English, and hail ranging from half an inch to an inch was reported north of Kalona and near Hills. The storm brought a tornado to Clinton County in northeast Iowa, and multiple tornadoes in western Illinois.

Tuesday temperatures in Washington ranged from 39 degrees to 68 degrees with a trace of rain. Seven members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought live coverage of the event and stood by with emergency generators, so that had the power gone off, KCII would still be on air to bring live coverage of the storms.
