Nearly two inches of snow fell in Washington Monday. Mt. Pleasant had about one inch of snow, while a trained weather spotter reports 3.3 inches in Parnell, and another reports four inches fell in Coralville. The wet, snowy conditions caused a few schools to delay classes Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures for the first two weeks of March in Washington are above normal. The average temperature has been 37.2 degrees, above the normal 33.7 degrees. The year-to-date figures also show temperatures warmer than normal with the average for 2017 so far at 32 degrees, about seven degrees above normal.

Temperatures are expected to rise as the week progresses with high temperatures of 34 degrees Wednesday, 46 degrees Thursday and 58 degrees Friday.
