Veterans, children, families, the elderly and many more are served by social workers and March is Social Work Month. Danielle Stouder, LMS with Hospice of Washington County, says, “Social workers are in place to help. To help you meet a need and to do it in an empowering and in a positive way.”

Stouder explains as a social worker with hospice patients she helps in a variety of ways, from working toward goals – like going fishing one more time or going on a vacation. She also facilitates tough conversations with family members, like end of life arrangements.
