He stood up on a tree stump and said, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” Those words were written by Dr. Seuss in his book The Lorax. March 2nd St. James Elementary School in Washington celebrated Dr. Seuss, also known as Theodor Suess Geisel’s birthday. Throughout the week the school observed the author’s birthday with dress up days including hats, mismatched clothes, and pajamas. Teachers decorated their doors to represent some of his famous books including Cat in the Hat, Fox in Socks, and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. They also had a family reading night, had green eggs and ham, and observed Read Across America Day Thursday.
