Washington, Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, and Louisa counties all saw unemployment rates drop from January to February. According to Iowa Workforce Development, Washington County had 500 people unemployed in January at a rate of 4.1% unemployment and that fell to 400 people or 3.5% in February. In Iowa in February, the lowest rate of unemployment is in Story County at 2.1% and the highest is 6.0% in Clayton County. Across the state the unemployment rate was 3.2% with 53,600 Iowans unemployed.
