Improvements will be made this summer to the track at Case Field in Washington. At their March 8 school board meeting, the Washington Community School board approved a contract of $44,850.00 with Midwest Tennis and Track of Denison to resurface the facility.

Washington boys track coach Steve Roth says the work is needed because of the use by the school and community over the past several years. Roth says Midwest Tennis and Track is scheduled to start work in June filling in cracks and will put a new coat of black polyurethane around the track. He adds this will be the third time the track’s been resurfaced since being constructed in 1997. Roth estimates the new coat of polyurethane lasting the district eight years.
