The start of the track and field season will take the Washington Demon squads to Mount Vernon later this week. The 10th annual Demon Indoor Meet will be held tomorrow and Friday at Cornell College in Mount Vernon. Steve Roth is returning for his 41st season as Washington’s boys track coach and is the organizer of the event.

Roth says tomorrow’s meet will feature girls’ track teams from Anamosa, Bettendorf, Carlisle, Cedar Falls, Central Lee, Clear Creek Amana, Columbus Community, Davenport Central, Davenport North, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Highland, Iowa City High, Iowa City, Iowa City Regina, Iowa City West, Keokuk, Linn-Mar, Mount Pleasant, Mount Vernon, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Solon, West Burlington, Williamsburg, and Xavier.

Friday’s boys meet will highlight athletes from Anamosa, Burlington, Carlisle, Cedar Rapids Washington, Central DeWitt, Central Lee, Clear Creek Amana, Columbus Junction, Davenport Central, Des Moines Roosevelt, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Highland, Iowa City High, Iowa City, Iowa City Regina, Iowa City West, Keokuk, Linn-Mar, Mount Pleasant, North Scott, Pleasant Valley, Waukee, West Burlington, West Central, West Liberty, Williamsburg, and Xavier.
