He threw 31 pitches over the two innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three batters. He took a no-decision in a 12-8 victory. He pitched the eighth and ninth inning of Saturday’s 7-1 loss to the University of Bucknell Bison (6-5). Wood kept the Bison off the scoreboard, scattering three hits for a no-decision.
Wood spent his first two collegiate baseball seasons at Marshalltown Community College. He posted a record of 3-5 with a 4.66 earned run average in 11 starts as a sophomore.
