Advanced care planning for your health will be discussed at a Lunch and Learn session hosted by Hospice of Washington County this Wednesday in honor of National Healthcare Decision Day. Katrina Altenhofen, director of hospice, explains the topic of conversation will be advanced care directives, living wills and IPOST, or Iowa Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment. She said she had the idea to present information to the public after speaking to a group in town, “I brought up the fact that one of the ladies had a bracelet on that said DNR, and I said, ‘Is that Do Not Resuscitate?’ She said, ‘Yes.’ So we went into some explanations on that and they had not a clue what an IPOST is.”

The lunch will be held Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. in the Nichola-Stoufer Room of the Washington Public Library.
