The Columbus boys and girls soccer teams head to Burlington Notre Dame to face the Nikes tonight.

The Wildcat boys (0-1) lost their first game last week against the Demons. The game went through two overtime periods and to penalty kicks to be decided. Eric Cantarero scored the lone regulation goal for the Wildcats with seven of his eleven shots being on goal. Goalie Brayan Camargo collected five saves while allowing the one goal. Burlington Notre Dame (4-1) is out to a quick start on the season paced by Jakob Anderson’s five goals and 33 saves from goalie Tj Schramm.

Due to cancellations, this is the Columbus girls’ first game of the season. Junior Pearl Krieger-Coble looks to lead the Wildcats who had a record of 5-9 a year ago. Krieger-Coble was the top scorer for the Wildcats in 2016 amassing 13 points between goals and assists. Sophomore Liana Sweezer looks to build off her 2016 campaign of 168 saves on a save percentage of 80%. Burlington Notre Dame (1-1) is paced by Anna Tillo who already has nine points on the young season.

Action gets started tonight at 5 p.m. at Burlington Notre Dame High School with the girls playing first and the boys to follow.
