The No. 16 Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union Wildcat boys soccer team scored an impressive 1-0 home win over the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks Friday.

The lone goal of the game came at the 19 minute mark of the first half when Erik Cantarero intercepted a Golden Hawk throw it after the first touch and beat two defenders to find the back of the net. The Wildcats made that tally stand up the rest of the game, despite being out shot 11 to 5. Brayan Camargo was brilliant in goal for Columbus, making several dazzling saves to protect the slim margin, and finish with a clean sheet.

With the win Columbus is now 3-3 on the year, Mid-Prairie falls to 2-3.
