The Columbus Junction girls track team is set to prepare for another chilly evening as they head to West Liberty for their meet tonight.

The Wildcats were last in action a week ago at Wapello High School for a Co-ed Invitational where some members of the squad found success. Shania Boyd highlighted the action by placing first in both the 100 and 400 meter hurdles as well as a second place finish in the 100 meter dash. The 4×400 meter relay team of Angie Byas, Vanessa Mena, Jenessa Carpenter, and Ingrid Montero receivedwas third place at the Invitational as well as the 4×800 meter relay team consisting of Taylor Howell, Vanessa Mena, Daniella Cruz, and Ingrid Montero. Other top finishes include Jenessa Carpenter placing second in the 800 meter open.

Joining Columbus at tonight’s meet in West Liberty will beis Anamosa, Calamus-Wheatland, Clear-Creek Amana, Iowa City Regina, Lisbon, Midland, North Cedar, Tipton, West Branch, Wilton, and the host CometsComets.

Action gets started at 4:30 this evening continuing into the night at Memorial Field in West Liberty.
