The Washington Demon boys and girls soccer teams are back at the Washington Soccer Complex as they entertain Mediapolis in a non-conference doubleheader.

The Washington boys enter the contest with a 3-4 overall record. They fell to Mount Pleasant Monday 4-2. Caleb Suchan leads the Demon offensive attack with six goals, third most in the Southeast Conference. John Dillon’s two assists lead the team. Thomas Zimmer is best in the conference and fifth in the state with 71 saves. Mediapolis is 4-4 this season entering tonight. In their last game the Bulldogs were shut out 4-0 by Iowa Mennonite. On the season they are led by Caleb Duffy with seven goals, third best in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Journey Rude is best on the team and fifth in the conference with three assists. Travis Massner has made 63 saves in goal, third best in the league. These two teams met last year with Washington taking a 7-2 win.

The Washington girls come into tonight’s action looking for their first win of the season. In their last match they were shut out by Mount Pleasant 5-0 Monday. Mediapolis is 2-2 on the year. The Bullettes beat Columbus 4-3 on Thursday. These two teams met a season ago with MEPO taking a 7-0 win.

It is also Youth Soccer recognition night. Those players will be recognized between matches. Action kicks off this afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Washington Soccer Complex.
