After waiting more than three years for their first conference match victory, the Washington boys soccer team has a chance to put together a Southeast conference winning streak tonight when they travel to Mount Pleasant.

The Demons last won back to back conference games in May of 2014 when they beat Mount Pleasant and Fort Madison on the road.

It was late game heroics that lifted the Demons past the Bloodhounds on the road Friday. With the game tied at one late, Caleb Suchan made a run to the 18 and drove home the game winner with just 10 seconds left in the contest.

Washington enters play with a 3-3 record on the year. On the season the Demons are led by Suchan and his four goals. John Dillon has the team lead with a pair of assists. Thomas Zimmer has 54 saves in goal, 10th most in the state in class 2A.

Mount Pleasant comes into the game 1-3 on the season. The Panthers lost to Burlington 1-0 on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant is led by Cade Warner with three goals. Ryan Hutchinson leads the way with three assists. In goal Nathan Rauenbuehler has 26 saves.

These two teams met twice last year with the Panthers taking both matchups, 3-2 in Washington and 2-1 at Mount Pleasant. Action begins tonight at 4:30 at East Lake Park in Mount Pleasant.
