At 5:02 p.m. the Washington County Communications Office received a call from a driver on Highway 92, west of Ainsworth, who said her car had been side swiped when another vehicle crossed the centerline. A second caller advised the suspected vehicle was at the entrance of Marr Park and the driver had walked into the park.
The driver was 49-year-old Rick Owen of Lancaster, California. Owen was arrested for operating while intoxicated second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance – first offense, leaving the scene of an accident, and improper use of lanes. An ambulance and Ainsworth QRS were requested to check the driver.
A second ambulance was requested for another driver who had been run off the roadway. One person was taken by ambulance to Washington County Hospital and Clinics. A vehicle was towed from the scene.
