The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams are on the road tonight when they travel to Monticello.

The Mid-Prairie boys come into tonight’s match with a 1-2 overall record. In their last contest they fell to Clear Creek-Amana 2-1 on Monday. Nick Ives scored the Golden Hawks lone goal in the contest. Terrhyn Jacoby leads Mid-Prairie with three goals on the season. Ryan Harapat, David Bayliss, and Cian Borra each have two. Ryan Miller leads the team with eight saves on the season.

Monticello comes into tonight with an overall record of 1-4. They were beaten by Bellevue Marquette 4-3 on Tuesday. Gavin Holub leads the Panthers with four goals on the year. Jordan Breshears is second in the state with 77 saves. These two teams met last in 2015 with Mid-Prairie winning 4-0.

In the girls match-up, Mid-Prairie comes into the night with a 2-1 overall record. In their last game they beat Columbus 3-2. Addie Rath leads the Hawks with six goals, sixth highest total in the state in class 1A. Kirsten Duwa leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 16 saves on the year.

Monticello comes into tonight with an 0-2 record. In their last game the Panthers fell to Maquoketa 7-0. They have not scored in their first two matches of the year. Panther goal keeper Cassie Gilmore is fourth in the state with her 52 saves this year. These two teams met a year ago with Mid-Prairie taking the match 4-1.
