The Mid-Prairie boys track team will host their first meet of 2017 tonight at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.

Mid-Prairie last ran Tuesday at the Indian Relays in Wapello. The Hawks finished fourth out of 12 teams at the event. Levi Duwa was the lone champion on the night, winning the shot put with a throw of 51’6″. He finished second in the discus. The Mid-Prairie 4×100 team of Cary Schaefer, Terrhyn Jacoby, Quinn Schmidt and Peyton Miller and the 4×800 team of Andrew Schwartz, Brent Foster, Brad Tornow and Jacob Nonnenmann all finished runners-up.

Highland is also attending. The Huskies were last on the track Thursday at the Demon Relays at Case Field in Washington. The Highland 4×100 team of Logan Dutton, Logan Harbison, Bradley Rodgers and Trey Lasek won the event championship.

Also joining Mid-Prairie and Highland tonight in Wellman are HLV, Lisbon, Montezuma, North Cedar, Springville and Waterloo East. Action begins at 5 p.m. at Mid-Prairie High School.
