The Washington boys track team braved the cold elements of late March in southeast Iowa, traveling to the Mount Pleasant Co-ed Relays on Friday.

The Demons crowned one champion as Ethan Hunt won the 400m dash with a time of 54.67 seconds. Caleb Bex added a runner-up finish for Washington in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.93 seconds. Other finishes of note for the Demons included the shuttle hurdle relay team of Bex, Mario Tapia, Ben Schieffer and Justin Simmering taking fourth, the 4×100 team of Tapia, Tanner Murphy, Kyle Schindler and Sawyer Whisler fourth, the Washington sprint medley team of Brandon Dickel, Levi Baumert, Whisler and Simmering in seventh, the Demon distance medley team of Lincoln Kleese, Cade Pouren, Keith Kiowa and Brennan Horak in seventh, the Washington 4×200 team of Tapia, Murphy, David Mares and Hunt in seventh, and Cade Pouren seventh in the long jump clearing 18’1.25”

The Washington boys track team will next be in action tonight when they travel to Williamsburg.
