After a tough 2-1 setback Tuesday night, the Iowa Mennonite boys soccer team went on the road Thursday and shut out Mediapolis 4-0.
Defenses dominated the first 40 minutes with neither team being able to break through on the scoreboard, living the game a scoreless tie at the half. Anthony Villatoro got Iowa Mennonite on the board in the 42nd minute with a goal on a direct kick. In the 54th minute IMS doubled their lead when Isaiah Swantz drilled a penalty kick goal. IMS got two more insurance goals with Nick Yutzy scoring on a Cole Ours assist in the 68th minute and Isaiah Swantz scoring from long range at 25 yards in the 72nd minute.
Cole Yoder was in goal for the IMS shut out, recording two saves. With the win IMS is now 4-2 on the year and will next be in action Monday when they host the Wapello Indians.
