The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls golf teams will be in competition on the course for the first time this season when they host Louisa-Muscatine tonight.

The early season schedule has been a challenge for IMS, along with the unfriendly weather, IMS has had to navigate interterm, spring break and a choir trip. Numbers are up in both the girls and boys programs this season with 11 student athletes on the team, meaning they will have enough participants to post a team score at most events. For the girls, IMS returns all four players from a year ago including leading scorer Gretta Rempel who averaged a 66 per nine holes last year. For the boys, IMS also returns all scoring players from a year ago including Roman Slabach who shot 57 per nine holes.

Other boys returning include Drake Brezina, Trevor Leyden, Caleb Yoder, Tanner Thrapp, Palmer Thomas and Adrian Gonzales. For the girls, Payton Hart, Lara Kliewer and Lidiya Kravchuk. Action begins tonight at 4 p.m. at the Kalona Golf Course.
