The Iowa Mennonite School soccer team suffered a setback in their first outing of the year, falling at No. 10 Solon by a 3-0 score.

The Spartans took the lead at the 25 minute mark, scoring on a breakaway after the IMS defense was unable to clear the ball. Solon doubled their lead in the 33rd minute, giving the Spartans a 2-0 lead going into the half. In the second half, Iowa Mennonite produced some scoring opportunities but were unable to finish. The Spartans scored an insurance goal in the 77th minute to put the game out of reach. Solon got goals on the night from Jorel Justus, Isaac Vang and Luke Yetley. IMS finished with six shots on goal but were unable to break through on the scoreboard. Cole Yoder and Blake Bontrager combined to make five saves in goal. With the loss IMS is now 0-1 on the year and will next be in action April 11th at Holy Trinity.
