Quilt and handcrafting enthusiasts will be flocking to Kalona this weekend for their annual quilt show and sale. All handcrafted quilts will be on display at the show’s new location this year, the Kalona Historical Village. Show organizer Katie Karnes says a third of the quilts on display are antique, and people from as far as Iceland come to the show, which is in its 46th year. The quilt show is also occurring in conjunction with the Vintage and Handmade Show, also taking place at the Kalona Historical Village. There will be a quilt raffle and a gift shop at the quilt show, according to Karnes. Admission to the quilt show is $5 for those 13 and older. Paid admission will gain you entry all three days of the show. The quilt show and sale begins today and ends on Saturday, with the Vintage and Handmade Show also taking place on Friday and Saturday.
