Lone Tree High School hosted its annual Lone Tree Invitational track meet Monday. The Lone Tree boys won the event with 142 points.

The Lions scored seven event championships on the night. Brock Smith was a three time winner, taking the 400 in 54.79 seconds, the 800 in 2:16.27, and the 400 hurdles in 1:01.14. Casey Shalla was the discus champion throwing 121’2”, Shalla also won the shot put with a throw of 43’2”. Niko Gosnell set a new school record, winning the high jump by clearing 6’5”. Jovonte Squiers won the long jump with a leap of 20’2”. Other top finishes for the Lions included Ross Swinton runner up in the 800 and the 1600, The 4×100 team of Avery Knock, Keegan Edwards, Tyler McCullough and Harmon Miller as runners up, the 4×200 team of Knock, McCullough, Miller and Ryan Kirkpatrick in third, the 4×400 team of Knock, McCullough, Kirkpatrick and Caleb Viers third, the 4×800 team of Miller, Jeff Hudson, Viers and Kirkpatrick runners-up, the shuttle hurdle relay team of Gosnell, Edwards, Smith and Hudson third, and the sprint medley team of Knock, Gosnell, Edwards and Miller as runners-up.

WACO was second at the meet with 124 points. The Warriors claimed five championships on the night. Cornell Hulme won the 100 in 11.49 seconds and the 200 in 23.81 seconds. The 4×100 team of Calvin Battle, Elijay McGowan, Colton Horak and Hulme won the title in 46.85 seconds. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Beau Beckler, Jackson Roth, Horak and Hulme were also champs in 1:04.04. the 800 sprint medley team of Drew Kissell, Beckler, Battle and McGowan won their event in 1:47.52. Other top finishes for the Warriors included McGowan and Roth runner up and third place respectively in the 400, Beckler and Horak runner up and third place respectively in the 110 hurdles, and Horak third in the 400 hurdles, Roth runner up in the long jump.

Keota finished fifth in the seven team field with their overall score of 66 points. Top Keota finishes on the night came from Jacob Wickencamp who was runner up in the 200, and third in the 100. Turner Klein was third in the 3200, Cole Brenneman runner up in the discus, Alex Heisdorffer third in the shot put and the Eagle 800 sprint medley team of Jason Ree, Ty Sieren, Tristan Sypherd and Olin Walker placed third.

Iowa Mennonite was seventh with their team score of six points. Scoring events for IMS included Logan Thomas fifth in the 800 and sixth in the 400. Adrian Gonzales was fifth in the 1600 and sixth in the long jump.

On the girls side of the meet Lone Tree finished second in the team race with 116 points. Wapello took the team title with 128 points. The Lady Lions had one championship event on the night as the 4×800 team of Natalie Patterson, Sydney Alt, Lucy Bloomer and Carly Moore were winners in 12:46.19. Other top finishes for the Lone Tree girls included Holley Johnson third in the 200 and runner up in the 400. Emily Feldman was third in the 100 hurdles and runner up in the 400, Patterson third in the 1500m, Kaycee Kane third in the shot put and the 4×100 team of Carly Moore, Elena Sieverding, Johnson and Marrisa Swails finishing third.

WACO was third in the team standings with 105 points. The Warriors had three championship events at the meet with Kiana Miller winning the 100m dash in 13.84 seconds. The WACO 4×100 team of Miller, Kasey Sutton, Grace Conwell and Laney Graber were also winners in 54.29 seconds, and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Laney Graber, Clara Schmitz, McKenna White and Sutton took the title in 1:16.97. Other top finishes for the Warriors included Miller runner up in the 200, Sutton runner up in the 100 hurdles, Mayme Hinh third in the discus and runner up in the shot put, the 4×800 team of Mariah Boone, Bridgett Smith, Sam Davis and Aubrey McClanahan as runners up, the 4×400 team of Schmitz, Smith Boone and Davis third, the sprint medley team of Miller, Sutton, Conwell and Graber runners up and the distance medley team of Schmitz, Nadiyah Brown, Davis and Boone third.

Iowa Mennonite finished sixth out of eight schools with 52 points. IMS had two championships on the night as Calli Shaw took the 800 in 2:51.09 and the long jump, clearing 13’8”. Other top finishes for IMS included Ainsley Shaw runner up in the 1500, Avery Blauvelt third in the 3000, and Sarena Gerber third in the high jump.

Keota finished in eighth place with six points. Scoring events on the night for the Eagles included Laurie Amos fourth in the 3000 and Bailey Baumert fifth in the 200.
