The Lone Tree boys and girls track teams were in action Thursday night at West Burlington High School for the Falcon Coed Relays.

The Lone tree boys finished in fourth place with a team score of 96 points. West Burlington, Notre Dame won the meet with 150 points. The Lions were five time champions on the night. Niko Gosnell was a two-time individual winner, taking the 110 hurdles in 16.31 seconds and the high jump, clearing 6’4”. Brock Smith passed the field in the 400 hurdles, winning in 1:03.30 and Jovonte Squires won the long jump, clearing 21’3 1/2”. The Lions also captured the title in the shuttle hurdle relay with a team of Squiers, Gosnell, Smith and Jeff Hudson with a time of 1:06.43. Other top finishes for the Lone Tree boys included Ross Swinton as runner up in the 1600m, Casey Shalla third in the shot put, and the 4×100 team of Drake Hotz, Squires, Avery Knock and Gosnell in third.

The Lone Tree girls were fifth in the six team field with their score of 63 points. West Burlington Notre Dame were the meet champions with 174 points. The Lady Lions had two championships on the night with Emily Feldman winning the 100 in a meet record time of 17.48 seconds. The Lady Lion shuttle hurdle relay team of Feldman, Marrisa Swails, Zoie Simonsen and Lucy Bloomer also took the title in 1:20.34. Other top finishes for Lone Tree included Kaycee Kane runner-up in the discus, a runner-up finish for the 4×800 relay team of Holley Johnson, Natalie Patterson, Macie Bopp and Karli Burr and a third place finish for the 4×100 team of Swails, Elena Sieverding, Johnson and Chloe Jacque.

The Lions boys and girls track teams will next be in action Monday when they host their first track meet of the season.
