The Mid-Prairie boys track team made the trip to Dubuque Senior Thursday night for the Harold Sweet Invitational.
The Golden Hawks were eighth out of 16 teams with 35 points. Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the meet with 119 points. Mid-Prairie had one event championship on the night with the 4×800 team of Cary Schaefer, Andrew Schwartz, Marshal Teets and Floyd Evans taking the title in 8:23.46.
Other top finishes for Mid-Prairie included Levi Duwa runner-up in the shot put and discus, Peyton Miller fifth in the 400 hurdles, and Kyle Miller fifth in the high jump.
The Mid-Prairie boys track team will now await the announcement of the qualifying fields for the Drake Relays next week. The Golden Hawks will also travel to Anamosa Tuesday.
