The new meeting location for regular Washington City Council meetings will be set at Tuesday’s council meeting. The former library building which housed the council chambers was sold to Greiner Buildings, Inc. Also on Tuesday’s council agenda for consideration is the City’s equal opportunity policy statement, a proclamation from the mayor regarding a policy on the prohibition of the use of excessive force against nonviolent civil rights demonstrations, and an affirmative housing policy. In addition, the council will discuss the $600,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) that was recently awarded for the water plant. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Washington Public Library.
