Harmonicas, fiddles, banjos, and guitars come together to make folk and roots music. This Saturday in Washington is the first segment of a four-part series about American Roots Music. The series is presented by the Southeast Iowa Folk Music Club and the LET’s Center for the Creative and Healing Arts. Dan Henderson with the club says it’s important to have such programs in Washington, “I would say that folk music is one of the most diverse musical forms in America that reflects the diversity of America itself. In that sense, everyone can participate and enjoy it, I think.”

The program will include a video followed by a question and answer session with musicians Mark Clark and Joy Ward. The event begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at the LET’s Center at 114 North Iowa Avenue. To learn more about it listen to the Washington Page with Henderson and Debbie Farrow.
